It is here that the first European, Alexander Mackenzie, reached the Pacific Ocean overland.

Then into the interior of BC before heading across the Chilcotin Plateau enroute to the Coast Mountains and the remote Bella Coola Valley.
There will be a unique cultural tour by a local Native Indian guide to Thorsen Creek to see the 10,000 year old rock carvings and a sacred site to the indigenous Nuxalk tribe
There will be a visit to salmon spawning grounds throughout the valley. A river drift with a local fisheries biologist will provide a more interpretive guide to the salmon runs and a very good chance of Bear Watching.
