Trip Title:
The Wild West Mackenzie Trail – Trekking with Packhorses
Highlights:
Exclusive frontier wilderness experience; authentic trekking and/or riding with packhorses; the spectacular ridges of the Rainbow Range in Tweedsmuir Park; remote wilderness and wildlife
Overview:
An exclusive trekking holiday in Canada, trek or ride with packhorses through frontier wilderness where only a small handful of travellers will travel each year. We are the only trekking company operating in this area and one of the few that use packhorse support for an authentic wild west experience. The journey takes you along the Mackenzie Trail, the route originally taken by the first European to reach the Pacific Ocean overland. Explore temperate rainforest where bald eagles circle over head in the shadow of snow-capped peaks. Visit the salmon spawning grounds, see grizzly bears fishing and take a cultural tour with a Native Indian guide.
Trip Review:
"The trekking holiday in Canada through the beautiful scenery of the Rainbow Range, with its amazing colours and stunning views, is an experience that I will never forget. Jon Lugg, Mackenzie Trail, 2005 "
